Horrified: American Monsters - Cooperative, Dice Rolling, Pick-up and Deliver, Point to Point Movement, Miniatures, Horror, Strategy Game
Monsters from American folklore terrorize the nation. Can your team stop them?
Horrified: American Monsters is a standalone game that features gameplay similar to 2019's Horrified, which challenges players to overcome the "Universal Monsters" from classic films.
In this cooperative game, you face off against classic American nightmarish beasts: Bigfoot, Mothman, the Jersey Devil, the Chupacabra, the Banshee of the Badlands, and the Ozark Howler. The more creatures in the game, the harder the challenge, with players needing to use their unique powers to figure out how to defeat each monster.
Soby's Pick
BOOoop - Grid Movement, Pattern Building, Square Grid, Animals/Halloween-Themed, Abstract, Family Game
A deceptively cute, deceivingly challenging & SPOOPY abstract strategy game for two players.
Every time you place a kitten on the bed, it goes “boop.” Which is to say that it pushes every other kitten next to it one space away. Line up 3 kittens in a row to graduate them into cats… and then, get 3 cats in a row to win. But that isn’t easy with both you AND your opponent constantly “booping” kittens around. It’s like… herding cats!
And now, things just got boopier and spoopier - with NEW Ghost Cats that float between the spaces. And so scary, cats will leap right over each other to get away!

Or with a wretched evil potion,
A foul spell they’ll set in motion.

Gloom - Hand Management, Layering, Lose a Turn, Storytelling, Take That, Horror, Humor, Thematic, Card Game
The Sky is gray, the tea is cold, and a new tragedy lies around every corner.
In Gloom your goal is sad, but simple: Make your freakish family suffer the greatest tragedies possible before passing on to the well-deserved respite of death, and tell the tale of their miserable demise. Play cards with horrible mishaps on your own Characters to lower their Self-Worth scores, while cheering your opponents with happy occasions that pile on positive points. Clear transparent cards reveal or cover up the effects of cards below. The totals showing through give your score. May the most miserable soul win!

Quacks of Quedlinburg - Medieval, Deck/Pool Building, Dice Rolling, Catch the Leader, Delayed Purchase, Family Game
Welcome to Quedlinburg, where the best quack doctors gather to brew potions to cure smelly feet, homesickness, and hiccups. You're one of them. Your challenge is to make a special brew that will make you the best miracle doctor in the land.
The Quacks of Quedlinburg is a fun, quick push-your-luck game where you draw from your stock of ingredients, adding them to your cauldron, until your brew seems just right. But be careful: add the wrong ingredient and the potion could spoil. Do you stop early to raise your chance of making a better potion later, or risk a setback to reach for more money and fame now? Finding the right balance between risk and reward is key.
